With an increase in tourism interest and the upcoming release of a new resource guide a whole new look was created while still preserving information delivery.
The Maysville-Mason Co. Area Chamber of Commerce is a 300+ member non-profit organization that serves the needs of the area's local businesses. Like all chambers of commerce it is committed to bringing the best service possible so that businesses can receive relevant, timely information about local events, news and activities.
The Chamber also wanted to find a solution that would allow them to manage contact and billing information on their membership base. They wanted the ability to incorporate that information into their web presence so that visitors and fellow businesses could have a convenient 24/7 method of obtaining that information.
Solution: Aleris' Alfred
Alfred is a CMS (Content Management Solution) for web publishing software package that is web-native, being delivered via your typical web browser.
Alfred's information delivery model is based on articles within a categorical navigational architecture. This made it possible for the content that the Chamber staff was already generating to be rapidly deployed across the Internet. Alfred's built in marketing features, including email and print layouts, increased the opportunity for exposure to that content.
By introducing Alfred's Membership Module, the Chamber was able to effectively track the contact and billing information for their membership. This information is then seemlessly presented within their web presence so that members can be displayed and contacted by interested parties.
As an added benefit, the Maysville-Mason Co. Area Chamber of Commerce typically provides visitors with a calendar of local area events and festivals. By utilizing Alfred's Calendar of Events Module, the Chamber is able to kill two birds with one stone by conveniently organizing that information and introducing it into their web presence.
While Maysville and Mason County Kentucky is often referred to as a 'Big small town' it does offer unique challenges for this chamber of commerce. Maysville is home to several large industrial parks as well as a thriving hitoric downtown area. This means that hey must meet the needs of both large corporations and small 'mom and pop' shops with a staff of two. Assisting them in that challenge is Alfred's convenience and ease of use.
Since Alfred is delivered via a standard web browser, it is available 24/7 from anywhere an Internet connection may be found. This allows the staff to make updates, add articles or prepare a bill from home or on the move. If they happen to be on the road and need to access information for a presentation it's there. If a last minute emergency means that storefront needs to be closed - information can still go out.
Our software has served the needs of the Maysville-Mason Co. Area Chamber of Commerce for nearly two years now and we have been able to adjust to the needs of their web presence without disturbing precious content - whether it be to highlight a new resource guide publication, meet increased tourism interest or deliver information to businesses. Thanks to the designers at our 'Partner in Technolgy' Thimble Interactive Media, art design changes have been creatively and rapidly deployed upon request.

Maysville Gets Free Wireless Internet Since it's inception, Maysville can count itself the first at many things in the State of Kentucky. As of March 2nd, Maysville will be able to tack one more on its long string of firsts when it will become Kentucky's first privately funded free wireless city. Showing it's true spirit of innovation, Maysville business leaders have teamed up with area technology firms Courika Solutions and Aleris to bring free high-speed wireless Internet access to virtually all of Maysville's open spaces.
Local Business Opens Internet to Small Business, Individuals It has been a useful form of marketing since the beginning of time and advances in technology have not changed the effectiveness of good old fashioned word of mouth advertising. They have, however, made it more effective, and now an innovation by a Maysville company will make Internet 'word of mouth' cost efficient as well.
